The tug Anacostia is the 14th in a line of Patapsco-class tugs designed by Frank Basile of Entech & Associates and constructed at Thoma-Sea Boat Builders in Lockport, Louisiana. The Anacostia features a model bow and square stern. With accommodations for seven crew members, she is dedicated to 55,000-barrel tank barges on the coastwise trade. Her name comes from the river that flows from Maryland into Washington, DC, and empties into the Potomac River.
